Comrade Nguyen Thi Tuyen hands over Dang Thuy Tram Awards to young doctors.

This year’s program is its fourth edition with the aim of  honoring young physicians who have made great contributions to the cause of developing youth work and protecting people’s health in the city.
On the occasion, the Vietnam Youth Federation's Central Committee also offered certificates of merit to 19 individuals for their dedication during the period of 2018 - 2020.
Dang Thuy Tram Awards, launched by the Hanoi Youth Federation in 2011, have been given to 40 medical workers. This year, the Youth Union - Youth Federation - Young Doctors' Association of Hanoi presented the noble award to ten physicians in recognition of their contributions to Ha Noi’s public healthcare and medical sector.
The award is named after the martyr and Heroine of the People’s Armed Forces, Dr. Dang Thuy Tram, who worked as a medical doctor in the battles in Quang Ngai province during the most violent time of the anti-US war.
At the same time, the Young Doctors' Association of Hanoi convened its 4th congress for the tenure of 2020 - 2023.
During 28 years of construction and development, the association’s affiliation has expanded over all medical facilities across the capital city with more than 5,000 members.
Over the past time, the association has launched various programs on community’s health nationwide. Young medical workers have performed their vanguard role in voluntary activities for public health care.
Over the past tenure, the association has collaborated with relevant units to launch a wide range of activities towards protecting, caring for and improving public health in mountainous and remote areas throughout Hanoi.
Notably, the physicians have provided free health check-ups, consultations and medicines to 94,800 people with the total cost of over VND6 billion (over US$256,000)
For the tenure of 2020 - 2023, the association will continue effectively launching three campaigns  encouraging young doctors to study, practice and improve medical ethics, be more creative and active in scientific research, and work toward the community health.
The Congress elected 43 members of the executive committee and six vice chairmen. Dr Nguyen Trong Son was elected as the President of the Young Physicians Association of Hanoi for term 2020 - 2023.
