According to Minister of MARD Nguyen Xuan Cuong, the ministry will work with the city of Hanoi to deal with difficulties in deploying the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 257/QD-TTg which approves anti-flood and dyke planning for the Red and Thai Binh river systems.
Cuong praised the city for its effort in agricultural development in recent times. For two consecutive tenures, Hanoi has paid special attention to developing agriculture, building new style rural areas and improving farmers’ living standards, he stressed.
Cuong applauded the city’s comprehensive achievements in agricultural and rural development, saying that Hanoi has made great contribution to the country’s agricultural growth.
The minister urged the capital’s farmers to master high technologies from the Industry 4.0, and attract more investment and high-quality human resources into agricultural production.
Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue affirmed the agricultural sector has played an important role in the city’s economic growth.
He said that the implementation of the Program 02 is still a focus of Hanoi towards the direction of strengthening the restructuring of agricultural sector, developing large-scale commodity-based agriculture and organic agriculture in association with tourism and service development.

According to Hue, to realize the goal, Hanoi will focus on addressing difficulties in addition to taking various measures, including those aiming at increasing the value of farm produce, expanding supply chain links with other provinces, boosting consumption of agricultural products, improving the efficiency of agricultural production facilities.
The official underlined the necessity to attract more investments in agriculture and rural development, and promoting the application of advanced technologies in farming.
At the meeting, Mayor Chung and Minister Cuong signed a memorandum of cooperation between Hanoi and MARD.
