Hanoi People’s Council contributes to improving operational efficiency of all-level authorities (05:29 09/07/2020)
According to Hue, the municipal People’s Council has renewed its working methodology so as to improve the quality and efficiency in operation. Particularly, the meetings also saw several changes in regard to content and approach in a practical, effective and democratic manner. The council’s deputies upheld their sense of responsibility in made decisions on important issues for the city.
During the January - June period, the council complied with instructions of the Party Central Committee and the municipal government on COVID-19 prevention and control.
The council successfully conducted two extraordinary meetings, two inspection sessions and one hearing, while timely issuing mechanisms and policies to remove difficulties in key sectors and create favorable conditions for socio-economic development.
Concerning tasks for the remaining months of the year, the Secretary asked the council to realize three key missions. Above all, the council needs to follow guidelines of the Central Party Committee, the National Assembly, the Government, ministries and ministerial-level sectors in order to effectively implement the Politburo’s Conclusion No.77 dated June 5, 2020 on addressing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic for national economic recovery and development, he noted.
He underscored the significance of fully tapping into local resources to achieve socio-economic targets for 2020, with its gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth 1.3 times higher than the whole country’s gross domestic product (GDP) expansion, and the budget revenue target of VND285 trillion (US$12.3 billion) this year.
Hue asked the council, based on the city’s socio-economic performance in the first half of the year, to point out advantages, disadvantages and causes so as to delineate major missions and breakthroughs for the second half.
The municipal Party chief also underlined the necessity to tighten administrative discipline and order, and enhance the role and responsibility of the leaders; review and simplify administrative procedures; strengthen the application of information technology in operation; boost digitization and develop smart city, and ensure technical infrastructure and information security.
Due attention should be paid to monitoring the implementation of the two codes of conduct issued by the city, and enhancing the efficiency of citizen reception and timely deal with citizen’s petitions, he ordered.
Hue also requested the council to enhance inspection on planning, urban construction, new style rural area building in association with natural resource management and environmental protection; ensure food safety and safe water supply; step up construction of waste water treatment systems in industrial parks; boost the development of culture, health, education, science and technology, among others.
