Huong said Hanoi’s people and voters have high trust for drastic measures from the central government and of Hanoi’s authorities against the Covid-19 pandemic.
At the same time, the public highly regarded the government’s pursuance of dual target of both containing the pandemic and boosting economic growth.
In addition, financial support for people affected by the pandemic is much needed, Huong said, adding that explains the public’s endorsement of the government’s relieve package of VND62 trillion (US$2.67 billion) for the poor, social beneficiaries, self-employed workers, among others.
Meanwhile, Hanoi’s people and voters sided with the government’s efforts against corruption in the political system, Huong stated.
According to Huong, Vietnam Fatherland Front - Hanoi has been initiating patriotic emulation campaigns to help the city could realize its socio-economic targets in the first six months of 2020.
As of June 5, Vietnam Fatherland Front - Hanoi mobilized VND175.98 billion (US$7.6 million) for the Covid-19 fight, including medical equipment and basic necessities.
Huong said voters and the people are having concern over food safety and the quality of some medicine, while environmental pollution is also a growing issue.
The public is looking for more supportive measures from the government to help the business community recover from the pandemic, along with other issues, such as the construction progress of Cat Linh - Ha Dong urban railway project; violations in land use management; low progress in some transportation projects, among others.
Huong requested the local authorities to create the best conditions for the implementation of a pilot urban administration model in the city and measures to boost administrative reforms.
