Deputy Duong Duc Tuan from Hoan Kiem district, highly regarded Hanoi’s efforts in socio-economic development in the first six months of 2020, adding the final six months of the year is of significance for the city to realize the city’s targets for this year.
Deputy Do Thuy Duong from Cau Giay district expected Hanoi to attract high quality human resources from abroad, especially as the city is becoming an ideal investment destination from multinationals.
Duong suggested that Hanoi should improve the quality of education to prepare high quality workforce for foreign investors and enterprises.
Deputy Nguyen Xuan Luu (Thanh Xuan district) urged Hanoi to boost administrative reform and support newly established enterprises.
Deputy Nguyen The Vinh from Dong Da district called for consistent measures to support the labor market, including IT application in matching demands and supplies in this field.
Deputy Tran Thi Van Hoa said Hanoi should revise the GRDP growth target and the trade growth target. In the most optimistic scenario, Hanoi’s GRDP growth would reach 5.9% in 2020, higher than the national average of 5.2%. However, as the city’s economic growth in the first six months is estimated at 3.39%, this would require growth rates of 7.5% and 8.5% in the third and fourth quarters, respectively.
Hoa added this would be a very challenging task, not to mention trade suffering a deceleration in growth in the first six months.
In the coming time, Hoa expected Hanoi to continue promoting the advantages of IT application and speed up digitization; promoting transparent state management to gain support from the public.
Deputy Pham Dinh Doan from Hoang Mai district said Hanoi should focus on improving the business-investment environment to support the development of enterprises.
Doan said enterprises are in need of supportive legal environment, so that the dedication and responsibility from each public servant are key to help the business community moving forward.
