Hanoi pledges favorable conditions for US investors (21:45 07/07/2020)

At the reception, Hue expressed his delight at the growing relations between Vietnam and the US in recent times, especially in the fields of trade and investment.
 
The cooperation between Hanoi and US localities has been developing fruitfully, he added, expressing his wish that this relationship will be further strengthened in the near future.
 
On the occasion, the Hanoi Party chief briefed his guest on the city’s socio-economic achievements in the first six months of the year, as well as the initial success in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. 
 
According to him, with the determination to become a pioneer in economic recovery and development in the post COVID-19 period, Hanoi successfully held the conference “Hanoi 2020 - Investment and Development Cooperation” on June 27. At the event, the municipal government handed over investment licenses to 229 projects worth a combined US$17.8 billion. 
 
 
Kritenbrink, for his part, thanked the administration and people of Hanoi for their support for the U.S Embassy and diplomatic missions over the past time. 
 
The Ambassador also expressed his special thanks to the local government and people for donating 150,000 masks to the United States to support its COVID-19 prevention, affirming that this is a symbol of friendship between the two peoples. 
 
The US diplomat said he hoped that the comprehensive   partnership between the US and Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular will further grow in the future, especially in the fields of technology, tourism and commercial investment. 
 
Kritenbrink said that the US Embassy would hold a number of activities to celebrate 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and US, including a tilework and a conference on the bilateral relations in October, and invited Hue to attend the events. 
 
Welcoming the initiative of organizing events celebrating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations, the Secretary pledged to try his best to enhance the cooperative ties between Hanoi and US localities. 
 
Hanoi will create favorable conditions for US firms to invest and do business efficiently in the city, Hue assured the US diplomat. 
 
Hue also said that Hanoi would work with the US Embassy in holding the celebration, and the ground breaking ceremony of the new US Embassy building in Hanoi this year.
