On behalf of the municipal People’s Committee, Chairman Chung thanked the delegates for their feedback, and said he would take all instructions of the National Assembly leader and the Hanoi Party Secretary into serious consideration.
He said that the municipal People’s Committee would continue effectively realizing the council’s resolutions, aiming for highest possible socio-economic targets this year.
At the session, the Chairman explained a number of concerned issues about economic recovery and development, urban management, planning, social welfare, social order and safety, among others.
Concerning business support policies, the city leader said that Hanoi entrusted VND1.02 trillion (US$44.15 million) to the city Bank for Social Policies to disburse to poor households and home businesses as well as small- and medium-sized enterprises hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Regarding the impact of COVID-19 on the city’s economy, Chung offered a number of solutions for socio-economic development in the coming time. According to him, Hanoi continues giving priority to public health care and the fight against novel coronavirus and others. Due attention will be paid to social security, education and vocational training.
The city always attach importance to implementing environmental sanitation projects, he stressed.
For waste-to-energy project at the Nam Son waste treatment complexes (Soc Son District), Chung said that the plant will be put into operation in December this year. While, the Yen Xa wastewater treatment plant will be completed in early 2022, he added.
Hanoi will keep an eye on enhancing administrative reforms, simplifying administrative procedures, providing more online public services, improving investment environment and facilitating business activities, among others, he revealed.
The city leader also said that the city will also accelerate public investment, and place a high priority on health, education, social welfare and traffic infrastructure.
The municipal government set up a plan to realize the National Assembly’s resolution on specific financial-budgetary mechanisms for Hanoi, Chung said, asking for more effort to stimulate domestic consumption, and hold cultural events to mark the 1010th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi.
Besides, Hanoi is taking various measures to boost economic recovery and development, while realizing commitments at the conference “Hanoi 2020 – Investment and Development Cooperation” and developing solutions to balance budget revenue and spending.
Chung affirmed that the city would do its utmost to achieve highest possible socio-economic targets in 2020.
