National Committee on Youth of Vietnam holds meeting with Hanoi (22:11 03/07/2020)

HNP - A delegation of the National Committee on Youth of Vietnam (NCYV) under the lead of Vice Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Quan had a meeting with Hanoi People’s Committee on July 3 on the implementation of policies and laws on the youth. 

Hanoi currently has 3 million young people, accounting for over 30% of the city’s population. Over the last 10 years, Hanoi has trained 1.2 million young people to form a young base of qualified workforce for the city. 
For many years, young officials have matured and now hold many key positions in Hanoi’s political system. 
Meanwhile, the city also allocates resources  to vocational training and allocates resources to enhance quality of vocational schools, in turn meeting growing demands for high quality human resources of the city. 
As of present, Hanoi has 370 vocational facilities and trained over 1.6 million young workers; the city has found  jobs for 525,000 people and created  jobs for 143,000, among others. 
Hanoi also aims to build a healthy social environment for the youth, at the same time mobilizing resources for the development of youth and perfecting the organization specialized in supporting the youth in Hanoi. 
Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu said the local authorities have been supporting the development of the youth over the last few years, for which some notable activities include the support for startups, ensuring public orders, sports among others have been rolled out. 
Vice Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Quan spoke highly of the comprehensive results Hanoi has achieved for the development of the youth over the years. 
Quan said Hanoi has been taking care of the young officials, who are key in the city’s efforts for administrative reform, IT application and e-government, among others. 
In the coming time, Quan requested the city to continue focusing on development of science and technologies, new development polices, ensuring social security for the youth, as well as jobs counseling for young people, among others.
