The delegation included Vice Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council Phung Thi Hong Ha, and Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy.
Permanent Deputy Secretary Ngo Thi Thanh Hang conveyed her best wishes to more than 700 physicians and medical workers at the hospital on the occasion of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27).
She praised efforts made by the hospital’s staff in public healthcare service over the past 15 years, calling on them to make further contributions to the healthcare sector.
Hang also applauded the positive participation of the city’s health sector and the hospital in combating Covid-19 as well as other diseases.
The Permanent Deputy Secretary hoped that the hospital would continue promoting the achievements and improving the quality of public healthcare service.
According to Hanoi Heart Hospital Director, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, the hospital, founded in 2001 with only nine departments, has been at the forefront of medical examination and treatment of cardiovascular diseases so far.
Besides, the hospital has trained and transferred medical techniques in cardiovascular surgery and interventions to hospitals at inferior levels under the satellite hospital project and NORRED project.
Last year, Hanoi Heart Hospital provided medical examination and treatment for 362,981 patients and earned a revenue of over VND1.32 trillion (over US$57 million).
Two doctors of the hospital were given “Excellent Doctor” and “People’s Doctor” titles.
