13th session of Hanoi People’s Council opens (15:36 22/02/2020)

HNP - The 13th session Hanoi People’s Council opened on February 21 to discuss a number of key issues, including the merging of hamlets and civil groups from 11 districts. 

At the meeting, Hanoi People’s Council decided to merge and rename hamlets and civil groups of 11 districts, including Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, Ba Dinh, Hai Ba Trung, Thanh Xuan, Hoang Mai, Ha Dong, Tay Ho, Cau Giay, Long Bien and Ung Hoa; seven districts requesting not to merging hamlets and civil groups, including Bac Tu Liem, Nam Tu Liem, Hoai Duc, Thanh Oai, Dan Phuong, My Duc and Dong Anh. 
The results after merging hamlets and civil groups under 11 districts would be 1,407 civil groups, including 4 hamlets and 1,403 civil groups. The number of hamlets and civil groups after merging is 2,519 (4 hamlets and 2,515 civil groups). The number of hamlets and civil groups in Hanoi after merging is 5,260 (2,366 hamlets, 2,894 civil groups). 
Additionally, 226 civil groups were renamed, including Ba Dinh district with 46 civil groups, Dong Da with 26, Cau Giay with 37, Hai Ba Trung with 17, Tay Ho with 11, and Hoang Mai with 89. 
Under the resolution of the municipal People’s Council, Hanoi People’s Committee would issue resolution for merging and renaming hamlets, civil groups, while assigning tasks for related departments, units and people’s committees to normalizethe organization and operation of hamlets and civil groups; carrying out the voting for head of hamlets and civil groups in accordance to the law; creating favorable conditions for local people in realizing administrative procedures after completion the merging. 
Chairwoman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc said the decision for merging and renaming of hamlets and civil groups received absolut of endorsement at 100%. 
This showed strong determination of Party Committees at various levels, cities, and supports of the people in realizing resolution No.18 of the central government in streamlining political organizations. 
Ngoc requested Hanoi People’s Committee to evaluate the impact of the resolutions, ensuring efficiency in implementation and addressing any issues emerged during the process.
