Suu, accompanied by leaders of the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and of Chuong My district, visited the epicenter of A/H5N6 outbreak at Phu Nghia commune.
At the site, Chairman of Chuong My People’s Committee and other senior staffs of the district reported the result of preventive measures against A/H5N6 outbreak over the past few days.
Accordingly, local authority in Phu Nghia commune has culled the entire birds, mostly chickens and ducks, infected with the disease, as well as sterilizing all households in the outbreak area within seven to 10 consecutive days and the entire commune once per week.
Moreover, healthy birds totaling up to 68,600 are provided with vaccines at Phu Vinh hamlet, Phu Nghia commune; households have signed commitment to strictly follow preventive measures in accordance to laws and regulations.
From February 9 to date, at Phu Nghia commune in particular, and Chuong My district in general, there were no new cases of infection of A/H5N6.
Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu highlighted the efforts and drastic measures implemented by local authority in preventing the spread of A/H5N6.
Suu requested the authority to raise the public’s awareness in following breeding procedures towards greater efficiency and sustainable development.
