Hanoi’s Mayor Nguyen Duc Chung meets members of Arts and Literature Associations (11:04 15/02/2020)
At the meeting, Chairman of the Association Tran Quoc Chiem said, given its large scale of nearly 3,700 members and diversified operations, the organization maintains itself strictly in line with the instruction of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the field of arts, as well as strives for humanitarian value in close relation with the practice.
Chiem added the organization has been maintaining and promoting the living style of Hanoians towards elegance, civilization and supporting a comprehensive and sustainable development of Hanoi.
In 2019, there were 1,000 artworks from nine constituent bodies of the organization that have been printed, published and exhibited to the public, creating a dynamic environment for its members in creating artworks regarding the development of Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general.
In addition to the traditional topics such as history and revolution, stories that reflect the current lives of Hanoi’s people have also been a focus of artists.
The Arts and Literature Associations of Hanoi has honored 35 outstanding works on the occasion of 65th anniversary of Hanoi’s liberation day.
With theme of “Creating art works for the sustainable development of Hanoi and Vietnam” in 2020, the organization would focus on revising its operation and improving quality of art works. Moreover, the Arts and Literature Associations of Hanoi is utilizing sources of creativity as a foundation for an economy of knowledge.
Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung thanked the artists who have been holding strong passion for Hanoi; helping Hanoi for greater socio-economic development.
Chung said the city has been encouraging arts and literature associations from other provinces/cities, as well as embassies from other countries, to bring their cultural value and cuisine to Hanoi.
Every year, Hanoi plans to hold cultural activities and exhibition of products of traditional craft villages from Hanoi and other provinces/cities to promote culture and tourism in Hanoi.
