Hanoi extends school closure for another week (21:03 10/02/2020)

HNP - At the meeting of the Hanoi Steering Committee on prevention and control of  acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus (nCoV) on February 7, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee, Head of the Steering Committee Nguyen Duc Chung decided to give students in the capital city another week off by extending their school break through February 16.

At the meeting, Director of the Department of Education and Training Chu Xuan Dung said the department has worked with the health sector, districts and schools citywide to roll out the epidemic prevention work. 
Previously, Hanoi’s students were allowed to stay away from classes from February, 3-9.  
In an effort to keep the students safe and contain the spread of the 2019-nCoV, the city leader decided to extend school closure for another week through February 16.
Chung requested the education and training sector to continue disinfect  all schools so as to ensure safe environment when the classes are resumed.
