This year, the organizing board has taken action to ensure public security and food safety for the festival while strengthening the communication on the code of conduct in public areas among people.
Besides, My Duc District has also spent tens of billions of VND on building technical facilities to meet visitors’ demands.
According to Vice Chairman of the district People’s Committee Nguyen Van Hau, Huong Pagoda welcomes more than 1 million tourists per year.
To maintain public security during the three-month festival, the organizing board will drastically handle cases disturbing public order and superstitious activities.
From the first to the sixth day of the Lunar New Year, nearly 200,000 tourists flocked to the Huong Pagoda Complex. The festival attracted over 40,000 on the opening day.
Soc Temple Festival opens on January 30.
• On the same day, the Soc Temple was kick-started in Phu Linh Commune, Soc Son district, Hanoi.
For this year’s festival to be successful, the Soc Son District People’s Committee asked relevant agencies to guarantee environmental sanitation.
The organizing board also disseminated the code of conduct in public areas to raise public awareness.
During the three-day festival (from the sixth to the eighth day of Lunar New Year), the Soc Temple is expected to welcome around 120,000 visitors.
• A ceremony was also held at the Co Loa Citadel to kick off Co Loa festival in Dong Anh suburban district, Hanoi to commemorate King An Duong Vuong who founded the ancient Vietnamese state of Au Lac and chose Co Loa as the capital city.
In addition to a palanquin procession and incense offering ceremony, various sporting activities as well as folk games were held during the festival, including wrestling, tug-of-war, archery, a rice cooking contest and cock-fighting.
The festival will last until February 9 or the sixteenth day of the first lunar month.
