Chairman of the district People’s Committee Tran The Cuong said that along with five years of construction and development of North Tu Liem District, the district’s business community has grown in both quantity and quality. Their competitiveness has improved remarkably.
Over the past years, local businesses have made great contributions to the district’s economic development. By the end of 2018, the value of industry – construction hit VND24.7 trillion, up 30.94%; trade and services reached VND8.4 trillion, up 44.02%; agro, forestry and fishery was VND793 billion, down 2.9% against 2016.
Since 2014, enterprises have created jobs to 27,392 laborers in the area, contributing to reducing 653 poor households.
To date, North Tu Liem has recorded 5,971 businesses operating in metal products, food processing, machinery and equipment, wood and construction materials. They have positively contributed to local economic growth, socio-economic stability, job creation and social welfare.
The Chairman took the occasion to call on enterprises to continue to pour their money into fields that have great potential for development in the district, such as the development of urban areas, industrial parks, entertainment parks, green parks, shopping malls, high quality education, among others to meet local residents’ demand.
On the occasion, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Le Hong Son, and Vice Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council Phung Thi Hong Ha handed over certificates of merit to 39 outstanding enterprises.
