The event is among activities to mark the 65th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954-2019).
After nine months of launching, the Organizing Board received a total of 2,659 entries (2,514 single photos and 145 sets of photos) by 430 professional and amateur photographers from eight countries, including India, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Spain, the Philippines, Japan and Vietnam.
As many as 106 pictures, including 94 single photos and 12 sets), were selected for the final round of the contest, and the exhibition “Proud of Hanoi” which officially opened today at the Exhibition House in Trang Tien Street.
The photos on display convey the massages of Thang Long - Hanoi with thousand years of civilization, the Heroic City, the City for Peace, Hanoi - Development and Integration, green-clean and beautiful Hanoi, and beautiful moments of elegant and civilized Hanoians.
At the awarding ceremony, the Organizing Board presented the first prize to the photo “Hanoi - Looking from above’ by Le Ngoc Huy, two second prizes to the photos titled “Lung linh dem Ba Dinh” (Sparkling Ba Dinh Square at night) by Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, and “Hanoi – diem den” (Hanoi – a destination) by Nguyen Hong Nga.
Besides, three third and 10 consolation prizes are presented to outstanding entries. Out of 16 photos qualified for the final round, 15 were taken by Vietnamese photographers and one by a Singaporean.
