The event is among activities to mark 20 years since Hanoi was recognized as “City for Peace” by UNESCO and the 65th anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954-2019).
According to the Organizing Board, the contestants are Vietnamese at home and abroad, and foreigners living and studying in Hanoi, aged from 18 to 50, and over 155cm tall.
To date, forty females and 13 males have registered for the contest.
The final round is scheduled to be held in mid-November 2019.
The winner will be in charge of promoting the image of a peace-loving and friendly city of Hanoi among international friends.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, HAUFO Vice Chairwoman Tran Thi Phuong said that the Organizing Board hopes each candidate will act as an ambassador to convey the messages and deeds that contribute to promoting peace, solidarity and friendship.
