Mai Dich-Thang Long Bridge section of Ring Road No.3 opens to traffic (09:07 11/10/2019)

HNP - The Hanoi People’s Committee held a ceremony to inaugurate  Mai Dich -Thang Long Bridge section of Hanoi Ring Road No.3  on October 10.

The event saw the attendance of member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung; PCC member, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung; Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Dao Duc Toan; Standing Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan; and Chairwoman of the Municipal Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Lan Huong. 


The project with the total investment capital of VND 3,113 billion (US$ 134.1 million) from the budget has been completed after three years of construction from 2016 to 2019.

Addressing the event, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said that the  Mai Dich- Thang Long Bridge section of Ring Road No.3 is one of urgent and significant works for the city’s transport. 
After three-year construction, despite many challenges in site clearance and narrow construction terrain, the project has completed the main items, and ensured quality and eligibility to put it into use, he said.
According to him, the project will contribute to reducing traffic congestion at intersections of Nguyen Hoang Ton, Co Nhue and Hoang Quoc Viet, and creating the ground for the Ministry of Transport to soon finish the construction of viaduct  towards completion of Ring Road 3 in accordance with Hanoi’s Hanoi's Master Transport Plan approved by the Prime Minister.

On behalf of the city leaders, Chung recognized and hailed efforts of the city’s entities, People’s Committees of Cau Giay and North Tu Liem districts and construction units to complete the work as scheduled while praising the consensus among agencies, organizations and local residents in carrying out the project. 
He urged relevant agencies to soon complete and hand over the remaining items, such as sidewalks, trees, lighting, roads, among others as regulated.
