A series of activities will take place in Hanoi’s Bat Trang commune from October 10-13 to mark its official recognition as a tourist attraction.
They will include the inauguration of a culture and trade complex, a pottery exhibition, the opening of the Trang An ancient house, a tourism and culture fair, and folk art performances, among others.
Ly Duy Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lam District People’s Committee, Head of the Organizing Board, said that the recognition of Bat Trang Commune as a tourist site is the first step in the development of Bat Trang tourism trade village.
The district People’s Committee will continue releasing preferential policies to develop Bat Trang tourist site, he added.
Covering an area of 164 hectares, Bat Trang comprises two traditional ceramic villages, Bat Trang and Giang Cao.
Bat Trang also has many more things to discover. For example, Tieu Dao Pagoda and the Mother Goddess Temple still house many worship objects and statues dating from the 10th century.
Bat Trang Commune was recognized as a tourism destination in accordance with Decision No. 3936/QD-UBND dated July 23, 2019 of the Hanoi People’s Committee. The recognition will contribute to attracting more investment in Bat Trang as well as raising the awareness of the local authorities and people on tourism development in the area.
