The event drew the participation of, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh; NA Secretary General, Chairman of the National Assembly Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc, and leaders of ministries and sectors.
Hanoi leaders attending the event were Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council; Nguyen Lan Huong, Chairwoman of the Municipal Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Thi Tuyen, Head of the Municipal Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission; Ngo Van Quy, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee, among others.
Bui Bang Doan was born on September 19, 1889 into a Confucian scholar family in Lien Bat Commune, Ung Hoa District, Ha Dong Province (now Hanoi).
On January 6, 1946, the first general election of the new Vietnam was held all over the country in which he was elected member of the NA Standing Committee at the first session.
At the second session, Bui Bang Doan was appointed Chairman of the NA Standing Committee. In his position, Doan made great contributions to the legislative activities of the National Assembly.
Appreciating Doan’s contributions, the Party and State presented the Independence Order, first class, and the Resistance Order, first class to him.
As scheduled, a ceremony to commemorate NA Standing Committee’s Chairman Bui Bang Doan will be held at 9.00 am on September 16 at the Cultural Friendship Palace.
