According to Vice Chairman of the Tuyen Quang Fatherland Front Committee, Do Minh Tan, two days of heavy rain (September 8-9) have wreaked havoc in Na Hang and Ham Yen districts. A total of 56 houses were damaged. Hundreds of hectares of crops were flooded. Roads were destroyed by landslide. The flood also swept away a whole family of three in Minh Huong Commune.
Tuyen Quang has taken actions to support local residents in dealing with the damage caused by disasters.

Receiving the support from Hanoi, on behalf of the province’s cadres and people, Tan expressed his sincere thanks to the Party organization, administration, the Fatherland Front Committee, and people of Hanoi for their attention to natural disaster victims in the area.
On the occasion, Chairwoman of the Hanoi Fatherland Committee Nguyen Lan Huong conveyed words of encouragement and sympathy of Hanoi leaders to officials and ethnic minorities in Tuyen Quang province.
She hoped that the support would help the victims soon stabilize their lives, contributing to boosting the relations between Hanoi and Tuyen Quang.

The delegation also visited and offered 50 gifts to children at the Minh Huong Commune Preschool; a savings passbook worth VND30 million (US$1,300) to the family whose three members were killed in Minh Huong Commune.
Comrade Nguyen Lan Huong offered her condolences to the family and expected that the local government would pay more attention to them.
