The information has been released by the Hanoi municipal Department of Tourism.
Particularly, two 30-second promotional videos will be aired on CNN International. The targeted areas include Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East, North America and South Asia.
Under the five-year memorandum of understanding on media co-operation between Hanoi and CNN, the channel will run a total of 1,370 broadcasts in 2019, including 195 in September, 198 in October and 219 in November and 56 in December.
Previously, Vice Chairman of the Municipal Party Committee Ngo Van Quy, and senior Vice President of CNN International for the Asia Pacific Sunita Rajan signed the MoU on promoting the capital on CNN International for the 2019-2024 period.
Accordingly, CNN will continue to produce programs on Hanoi’s culture, history and people.
CNN will also partner with Hanoi in international events and technological and creative developments to turn it into a city of the future and integrate it with other “future cities” in the world.
Under the theme of 2019 “Hanoi opens with you”, CNN will introduce Hanoi as an attractive tourism destination through its culture, history, heritages and people, among others.
Last year, the city received an estimate of 26.31 million visitors, including more than six million foreigners, and earned VND7.4 trillion (roughly US$316 million) in tourism revenues, the Tourism Department reported. This year’s targets are about 28.5 million tourists, nearly seven million foreigners, and VND103.8 trillion in revenues.
