Hanoi and Nebraska State boost cooperation (08:11 09/09/2019)

HNP - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung hosted a delegation of the state of Nebraska (the United States) headed by its Governor John Peter Ricketts on September 6. 

At the reception, John Peter Ricketts said that the visit is aimed at enhancing the relations between Vietnam and Nebraska.
Stressing the US-Vietnam friendship practical relations, he hoped that the two sides would continue seeking ways to enhance ties in fields of trade, education and agriculture, among others.
 Chairman of the of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung expressed his delight at the growing relations of the two countries while thanking the Governor for his opinion.
 He briefed the guest about some outstanding achievements of Hanoi. With approximately 10 million residents, the capital city’s average economic growth hit 7.3% during the ten-year period. Per capita income reached US$5,200, contributing 19% to the country’s GDP.
Notably, Hanoi becomes the leading locality in foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction nationwide. The city attracted FDI worth US$7.5 billion in 2018, and US$6.2 billion in the first nine months of 2019.
Regarding tourism development, the city leader said that Hanoi welcomes about 27 million domestic and foreign visitors every year.

The two localities would intensify exchange and cooperation in fields of agriculture, investment, tourism, education, startups and healthcare, Chung hoped, adding that Hanoi gives priority to technology transfer from firms of the US and Europe.
On the occasion, the Governor invited the Chairman to pay a working visit to the state of Nebraska in the time to come.
