Hanoi wants to learn about Japan’s hi-tech agricultural models (11:10 21/08/2019)

HNP - Nguyen Duc Chung, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee hosted a delegation from Japan’s Kawakami Village (known as “Miracle Village”) led by Fujihara Tadahiko, Head of the village on August 20.

Kawakami Mura Village (Nagano Prefecture) is called by the Japanese people a "Miracle Village”. It used to be barren land, the poorest area in Japan. Thanks to its cultivation of lettuce, Kawakami is considered today the country's richest village.

At the reception, Mr. Fujihara Tadahiko said that a lot of Vietnamese laborers are working in the village and made significant contributions to its development.

The cooperation between Kawakami and Vietnam, Hanoi in particular in fields of agriculture, human resources and technological transfer has contributed to boost stronger ties between the two countries, he added.

He also expressed his hope that the Hanoi leader will soon pay working visit to Kawakami for more discussions to tap into cooperation potentials between the two sides.

On the occasion, Koganei Seiki Company, a member of the delegation, expected to seek investment opportunities and build a mechanical factory in Hanoi.

For his part, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung expressed his thanks to Mr. Fujihara Tadahiko for his attention to Vietnamese guest laborers who are working in Kawakami village and Koganei Seiki Company.

He said that Japanese products are a favorite of Vietnamese people and Hanoians in particular.

Recalling the trip to Kawakami under the framework of the working visit to Japan in June, 2018, the Chairman appreciated the development model of the village.

Chung added that Hanoi wants to learn more about Kawakami’s development while intensifying cooperation and exchanges in human resource training, hi-tech agricultural development, and others.
Hanoi committed to creating favorable conditions for Japanese firms to invest in the area, he affirmed.
