The event was co-chaired by Hoang Trung Hai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly (NA) deputy delegation of Hanoi; and Doan Hong Phong, member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Sectary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the NA deputy delegation of Nam Dinh.
In attendance were Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, PCC member, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Nguyen Duc Chung, PCC member, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee; Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council; Tran Van Chung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Nam Dinh Province Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Pham Dinh Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, among others.
In his opening speech, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Doan Hong Phong said that since the establishment of the cooperation in 2013, Hanoi and Nam Dinh have positively carried out cooperative contents and gained remarkable achievements in fields of trade, investment, agriculture, health and education, among others.
However, the outcomes have been still not proportional with potentials and advantages of each, he noted, expressing his belief that the conference would enhance the ties between the two localities to tap into their potentials for mutual development.

Giving a report on the cooperation outcomes between Nam Dinh and Hanoi over the past years, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Quoc Hung said that situated in the Red River Delta, the two localities have enhanced cooperation in various fields.
Particularly, Hanoi and Nam Dinh have exchanged their experiences in building the Party and political system via conferences, workshops held by the Central level.
The two localities have also strengthened investment promotion activities. Since 2016, Hanoi enterprises have expanded their branches in Nam Dinh and increased investment in many fields, making significant contributions to mutual development.
Regarding trade and services, industry and trade sectors of Hanoi and Nam Dinh have intensified exchanges and cooperation in commodities consumption. A lot of Nam Dinh businesses have coordinated with foreign partners, namely, AEON (Japan), Lotte Mart (Korea) to promote goods consumption in Hanoi.

In terms of agriculture, Nam Dinh takes part in trade fairs annually to introduce its typical products to Hanoi consumers while creating optimal conditions for Hanoi investors to increase their investment in agricultural sector.
At the conference, leaders of the two localities agreed that the outcomes have been still not proportional with potentials and advantages. Thus, they set up 12 cooperative contents in the time to come.
Accordingly, Hanoi and Nam Dinh will reinforce the cooperation in fields of the Party building, cadres training, e-government operation, investment promotion, agriculture and rural development, trade and industry, among others.
Making conclusion at the conference, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai expressed his delight at Nam Dinh’s strong changes, especially in the new-style rural area building.

Agreeing with the cooperative contents in the time to come, Hai urged the two localities to soon make plans on implementing concrete missions effectively.
On the occasion, Hanoi presented financial support worth VND3 billion to the fund for social affairs of Nam Dinh.
