The event drew the participation of Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Program No. 02-CTr/TU.
During the ten-year implementation of Program No. 02-CTr/TU, Thanh Tri District has effectively realized its contents.
Accordingly, the district has focused on developing concentrated production areas, and strengthening the mechanization in agriculture. Annually, Thanh Tri spends VND5 billion on agricultural development while paying attention to building hi-tech production models in communes, such as hydroponic vegetables in Yen Mu, and organic vegetables in Duyen Ha, peach blossom in Yen My, among others.
Besides, the district has attached importance to establishing farming models according to VietGAP standards, and expanding concentrated aquaculture areas.
In terms of building new style rural areas, in 2015, all 15 communes in the district finished the work and the district was recognized as new style rural area in September 2017.
Applying advanced criteria for new-style rural communes in Hanoi for the period of 2018-2020, Thanh Tri has gained remarkable achievements. Particularly, all communes have completed new-style rural planning, built 250 km rural road, and fulfilled irrigation and electricity criteria. 53 out of 68 schools (accounting for 77.94%) have met national standards; 100% of residents have access to safe water, among others.

Addressing the event, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang praised the district’s efforts in the new style rural area building.
She requested the district, in the time to come, to continue strengthening the communication to raise awareness of officials, Party members and people so as to create the consensus in fulfilling new style rural criteria; strictly implementing grassroots democracy regulations, and encouraging locals to make contributions to building advanced new-style rural areas.
Thanh Tri needs to maintain and improve the quality of criteria for new-style rural areas associated with urban development standards; try its best to fulfill the scheme of developing Thanh Tri into urban district for the period of 2020-2025, she stressed.
Hang also noted that during the development process, Thanh Tri should pay special attention to conserving and promoting values of traditional culture and historical relic sites.
To tap into its potentials and advantages, she asked the district to attract more resources for development; take measures for economic restructuring in the right direction; create optimal conditions for households, cooperatives and businesses to apply technological innovation; enhance agricultural restructuring towards hi-tech agriculture; build trademarks for farm produce; focus on implementing the “One Commune One Product” program; increase investments in infrastructure development; tighten the management of land, construction and transport.
Furthermore, Thanh Tri should carry out the building of strong and transparent Party and political system with the focus on realizing Resolution of the Party Central Committee’s 4th plenum (tenure 12) on the Party building associated with Directive 05 of the Politburo on strengthening studying and following of President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, moral and life style, she underlined.
