Vietnam among top 5 of International Mathematics Olympiad 2019 (22:04 13/08/2019)

HNP - The Vietnam team officially entered top 5 of the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMC) 2019.

Vietnamese students participate in the 2019 IMC.

According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, Hanoi team representing students nationwide included 15  from the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted competed at the categories for those aged under 14 and from 14-17.

The team won four gold and five silver medals, and one consolation prize for the individual competition. Meanwhile, at the team contest, Vietnamese students brought home two champion cups, one first and two second prizes, thus entering top 5 of the competition.

The gold medal winners are Trinh Minh Anh, Mai Nam Khanh, Do Hoang Quoc Bao and Nguyen Quang Anh.

Besides the competition, Vietnamese students also joined various extracurricular activities, intellectual games and cultural exchanges.

IMC is an annual event held alternately in member countries for outstanding students from over 40 countries and territories around the world.

This year’s IMC was held in Durban city, South Africa from August 1-6.
