Me Linh District sums up ten-year implementation of Program 02-CTr/TU on rural development (22:14 10/08/2019)
The event saw the attendance of Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Program 02-CTr/TU.
After ten years of implementing Program 02-CTr/TU, Me Linh has gained remarkable achievements in building new style rural areas.
Especially, the district has established large-scale cultivation areas, such as rice cultivation in communes of Tam Dong, Lien Mac, Thanh Lam; safe vegetables in Trang Viet, Tien Phong, Tien Thang.

Moreover, he district has paid attention to infrastructure construction. So far, Me Linh has built and repaired nearly 500km road, 73 schools and 58 cultural houses in communes. Per capita income reached over VND41 million. The rate of poor households was 1.4%.
To date, Me Linh has recorded 14 new style rural communes. The district People’s Committee is striving to complete the new style rural building in the remaining communes.
Since 2016, the district has raised VND1.289 trillion for the work. Besides, Me Linh has received urban districts’ support for infrastructure development.

Speaking at the conference, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang appreciated the district’s achievements in carrying out the program.
However, she pointed out shortcomings and weaknesses during the execution.
She urged the district to improve the value of agricultural production while increasing the quality of farm produce for domestic consumption and export.
During the work, Me Linh needs to focus on food safety, education, health insurance, and public healthcare; building cultural works in combination with tourism and socio-economic development, she noted.
Hang also requested the district to bring into full play people’s role in protecting environment.

She also underlined the need for district to maintain political stability; promote the pioneer role of officials and Party member; takes various measures for national security and defense; positively carry out national security movements; review and strive to fulfill set targets.
At the conference, Permanent Deputy Secretary Ngo Thi Thanh Hang handed over certificates of merit of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to one collective and one individual.
The district People’s Committee also honored 18 collectives and 20 individuals making great contributions to building new style rural areas for the 2016-2019 period.
