The event drew the participation of member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, and Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy.
Currently, Hanoi has more than 50,000 AO/Dioxin victims. Many of them need support for their lives.
Over the past years, the association has raised over VND85 billion (over US$3.6 million); presented gifts to more than 220,000 victims; given financial assistance to 520 households; built and repaired 200 houses; presented 320 wheelchairs for disabled victims; provided health checkups and medicines to 36,500 people.
Besides, the association has maintained the campaign “Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, moral and style”, the emulation movement “For AO/Dioxin victims” associated with the movement “All people join hands to build cultural life, new style rural areas and civilized urban areas” and others in the locality.
At the meeting, the Municipal People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to collectives and individuals making great contributions to emulation movements.

Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy lauded the association’s achievements in fulfilling the task.
He also praised the support from businesses and benefactors for AO/Dioxin victims.
The Vice Chairman took the occasion to requested all-level Party organizations and authorities to realize Directive 43 of the Party Central Secretariat; timely carry out policies for national contributors, AO/Dioxin victims in particular.
He also urged the association to further care for AO/Dioxin victims while calling on agencies, units, enterprises and philanthropists to continue supporting them.
