Accordingly, the city has carried out many communication programs on significance of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27) as well as guidelines and policies of the Party, State and city for national contributors on mass media while honoring outstanding individuals who made great contribution to the gratitude work, and sick and invalid soldiers, war veterans and martyrs’ relatives trying their best in their life.
All levels, sectors paid attention to gratitude movements. The city raised a total of VND32.672 billion for the gratitude fund, reaching 147.7%; offered 4,169 saving passbooks worth VND5.227 billion, meeting 157.6% against the plan.
Meanwhile, districts and towns have repaired 96 memorial works with the cost of VND60.713 billion, accounting for 147.7% against the plan.
The city has also spent VND5 billion from the gratitude fund to upgrade martyr cemeteries in rural districts of Thuong Tin, Thanh Oai, My Duc, Phuc Xuyen and Chuong My; raise funds to repair 378 houses for national contributors with the cost of VND16,192 million.
Moreover, districts and towns handed over 411,162 gifts of the State President and the city to policy beneficiaries as regulated.
Besides, districts in collaboration with hospitals provided health checkups and medicines to nearly 21,000 turns of people with the cost of over VND3 billion.
In the time to come, Hanoi will continue strengthening the communication on policies and guidelines of the Party, State and city for revolutionary contributors and fully carrying out policies for them; and strictly handle violation cases, among others.
