Irish Ambassador Cait Moran showed her delight at the growing relations between Hanoi and Ireland’s localities while expressing her sincere thanks to the city leader for his warm welcome.
The community of approximately 1,000 Irish expatriates in Hanoi has contributed positively to the city, she added.
According to her, Hanoi is becoming one of the most livable cities in the world thanks to the efforts of its leaders and people.
The diplomat appreciated Hanoi’s plans on reducing private vehicles and developing public transport for its sustainable development, the field which Ireland has rich experiences and willingto help Hanoi in fulfilling the task.
She took the occasion to thank to the city government for its support for the Embassy of Ireland over the past time while affirming that, in her new position, she will makes more effort to reinforce the Vietnam-Ireland.

For his part, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Hung congratulated Irish Ambassador Cait Moran on her successful term in Vietnam, contributing to enhancing the cooperation between Hanoi and Ireland’s localities in various fields.
He also affirmed that Hanoi is willing to cooperate with Ireland in fields of hi-tech agriculture, sustainable development, smart city building, urban management and cultural development, among others.
The city always welcomes Irish investors while wishing to intensify exchanges with Ireland’s localities to learn about their experiences, he said.
