In attendance were Vice Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council Phung Thi Hong Ha, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy, Chief of the Municipal Party Committee Office Nguyen Van Tu, and leaders of the city’s entities.
Giving a report at the session, Director of the Hanoi Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, Nguyen Gia Phuong said that the center is a non-business public entity under the administration of the Hanoi People’s Committee.
The center, officially put into operation on June 15, 2015, has the main function of advising and implementing programs and plans on investment, trade and tourism promotion in the city.
It is responsible for providing consultancy services to local enterprises, organizations and individuals who seek business opportunities in Hanoi.
Currently, the center has six specialized divisions with a total of 83 officials, civil servants and workers.
Since its establishment, the center has proactively elaborated detailed programs and plans on investment promotion events, making significant contributions to luring investors to pour money in key projects, especially in waste treatment and clean water supply, among others.
Apart from the achievements, Director Nguyen Gia Phuong also pointed out difficulties, shortcomings and weakness in carrying out the tasks.
He took the occasion to raise several issues to the city in an effort to improve the quality of investment, trade and tourism promotion activities.
Speaking at the session, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy asked the center, in the time to come, to review its functions and missions; increase the quality of the promotion work; tighten the cooperation among the city’s entities; enhance the application of information technology (IT) in performing specialized tasks; intensify exchange with domestic and foreign organizations to improve its operation efficiency.
Making conclusion at the session, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai applauded the center’s comprehensive achievements.
He also requested the center’s officials, civil servants and laborers to improve their specialized knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of missions.
The Secretary underlined the need for the center to closely monitor signed projects so as to promote its function in giving better assistance.
Thus, the Municipal People’s Committee needs to create optimal conditions for the center to operate more effectively, he noted.
Hai also urged the center to strictly implement the two codes of conduct issued by the city while consolidating the Party building and complete preparations for all-level Party congresses towards the 17th Municipal Party Congress.
