Particularly, two inventions, “A product to treat oil pollution made from bio-film yeast on rice husk on bio-char” and “The application of nano silver to improve the efficiency of fresh water distillation equipment using solar energy” by students from Giang Vo Secondary School, Cau Giay Secondary School and Chu Van An High School, were commended at the competition.
They were also awarded special prizes for the best innovations.
WICO, an annual invention and creativity contest, is founded and organized by the Korea University Invention Association (KUIA) and sponsored by the parliament of the Republic of Korea. It is a contest for secondary and high school students worldwide to present their innovations that can be applied in reality.
This year’s contest took place from July 25 to 27 in Seoul, with 345 scientific inventions from 22 countries and territories.
