In attendance were Permanent Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen The Hung, and leaders of the city’s entities.
Giving a report at the working session, Director of the Hanoi Urban Planning Institute Luu Quang Huy said that under the administration of the Hanoi People’s Committee, the institute is a non-business public entity, with a stamp and a bank account for its operation.
Currently, the institute has eight specialized departments and one public non-business unit with the total of 200 civil servants and workers.
Over nearly 60 years of construction and development, the institute has become the leading agency in the field of research, design, urban planning of Hanoi.
In the first half of 2019, the institute served as an advisor in the state management in fields of urban planning, and planning management.
Particularly, the institute worked with the Department of Construction to roll out the evaluation of urbanization in Hanoi for the period of 2011 – 2020, targets and missions for the period of 2021-2030, and five-year plan (2021-2025). Additionally, the institute provided consultancy services with the total revenue of VND8 billion.
However, Director Luu Quang Huy pointed out many difficulties in fulfilling the tasks.
Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen The Hung appreciated the achievements by the institute over the first half of the year. He asked the institute, in the time to come, to focus on improving the quality of the research work.
Making conclusion at the session, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai lauded the institute’s contributions to the city’s development over nearly 60 years.
He urged the institute to remove shortcomings and weaknesses during its performance.
The Secretary also underlined the need for the institute to carry out five planning tasks assigned by the city in 2019, while positively expanding international cooperation to raise its role and status, deserving the title of Urban Planning Institute of Hanoi.
The institute should continue enhancing the Party building, and strictly realizing directives and resolutions of the Central level and the Municipal Party Committee, he noted.
