On the same day, member of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung had a meeting with Mrs. Valérie Pécresse.
Welcoming the delegation to Hanoi on the special occasion, on behalf of the Party organization, authorities and people of Hanoi, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai expressed his sincere thanks to Government and people of Ile-de-France region (the region of Paris) for their coordination and support in fields of planning, environment, science-technology, and heritage conservation.
The cooperation between Hanoi and Ile-de-France has contributed to reinforcing the Vietnam-France strategic partnership, he stressed.
Chairwoman of the Regional Council of Ile-de-France Valérie Pécresse lauded the growing cooperation between Hanoi and Ile-de-France while expressing her thanks to the Secretary for his warm welcome.
Briefing about the cooperation outcomes over the past time, she expressed her hope that during Secretary Hai’s upcoming visit to France, the two sides will continue having more discussions about environment, public transport, and new technology so as to deepen the cooperation.
Secretary Hoang Trung Hai hoped that Ile-de-France will continue supporting Hanoi in dealing with challenges during its urbanization process while sharing more experiences with the city in improving the efficiency of state management towards urban government model, planning and planning management, conserving cultural heritages and architecture.
He wished the delegation to have interesting experiences in Hanoi.

• At the reception, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung appreciated the delegation’s visit on the occasion of 30th anniversary of the cooperation between Hanoi and Ile-de-France.
He expressed his belief that the event will elevate the relations between Vietnam and France ties, and Hanoi and Ile-de-France in particular to a higher level.
Also, he believed that the cooperation agreements during the ongoing visit would preserve and promote the successes in the relations between Hanoi and Ile-de-France region over the past time, basing on cooperative contents during the French visit by Hanoi officials in June, 2018.
Accordingly, the capital city would boost stronger cooperation with French localities in building smart urban areas, he said, and noting that after the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) was signed, Hanoi wishes to develop the circular economy model which is implemented successfully in the EU countries.
The Hanoi Mayor expressed his hope that the cooperation between Hanoi and Ile-de-France region will become a typical cooperation between localities of the two countries.
He urged both sides to facilitate the exchanges of young businesses between the two countries, contributing to developing the startup ecosystem in Hanoi.

For her part, Chairwoman of the Regional Council of Ile-de-France, Valérie Pécresse, expressed her pleasure at visiting Vietnam on the occasion of 30th anniversary of the cooperation between Hanoi and the region.
She expressed her wish that the two sides would expand the cooperation in building creative urban areas towards sustainable development.
The French guest took the occasion to give her sincere thanks to the Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee for his positive support in creating optimal conditions for French enterprises, especially those from the Ile-de-France region, to join the urban railway project No.3.
She also affirmed the two localities’ cooperation in tourism, heritage conservation and science-technology.
