Hanoi, Ile-de-France region mark 30-year cooperation (09:03 18/07/2019)


HNP – A program was held to mark 30 years of Hanoi - Ile-de-France cooperative ties (1989-2019) at the Temple of Literature (Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam) on July 16.

The event saw the attendance of Nguyen Duc Chung, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee; Valerie Pecresse, Chairwoman of the Regional Council of Ile-de-France; Bertrand Lortholary, French Ambassador to Vietnam; Nguyen Thiep, Vietnamese Ambassador to France; Nguyen Thi Hong Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Council, among others.

 

Addressing the event, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung stressed that established in 1989, the cooperation between Hanoi and Ile-de-France region has developed fruitfully during three decades with many projects in various fields, including public transport, heritage conservation, urban planning,  among others.

Leaders of the two countries appreciated the outcomes, he added, and describing that the cooperation between Hanoi and Ile-de-France as a model for Vietnamese and French localities to follow.

Stressing that the two capital cities hold many similarities for further cooperation, the Chairman expressed his hope that Hanoi and Ile-de-France region will elevate their cooperation to a higher level in the time to come.  

Chairwoman of the Regional Council of Ile-de-France, Valerie Pecresse expressed her honor to attend the celebration of 30 years of cooperative ties between the two localities at the Temple of Literature – the precious historical relic site of Hanoi with a thousand years of culture.

During three decades, the cooperation between the two localities has gained remarkable achievements, such as public transport projects, Hanoi Urban Rail System Project (Line 3: Nhon-Hanoi), Hanoi urban planning scheme, among others.

The Chairwoman of the Regional Council of Ile-de-France (Paris region) wished the two sides to effectively roll out cooperative contents for smart and sustainable urban development.

Appreciating efforts and initiatives of Hanoi authorities towards sustainable development, Valerie Pecresse expressed her wish that the cooperation between the two localities will be expanded via a series of practical projects.
