At the reception, Ambassador of Malaysia M. Zamruni Khalid thanked for the Chairman’s warm welcome as well as Hanoi’s support for the Embassy of Malaysia over the past time.
Expressing his delight at the outcomes of the city’s socio-economic development, the diplomat said that his country is the eighth largest investor in Vietnam.
Regarding tourism sector, Hanoi has become an attractive destination for Malaysian tourists since the launch of direct flights from Hanoi to Kuala Lumpur, contributing to reinforcing people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, he added.
The Ambassador hoped that in the coming time the Malaysian Embassy would continue receiving the city’s assistance so as to boost stronger ties between Vietnam and Malaysia as well as Malaysia and Hanoi.
Also, he wished Hanoi to continue creating optimal conditions and giving assistance to Malaysian investors.

For his part, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung lauded the Ambassador’s effort to elevating the bilateral ties to a new height, and expected that in his new post, he will continue working to foster the good relations between Vietnam and Malaysia in general, Hanoi and Malaysia’s localities in particular.
The city leader also agreed that the two sides hold great potential for cooperation in various fields, namely, tourism, investment and urban development.
He committed to maintaining the cooperation with the Malaysian Embassy in exchange activities in the time to come.
