The event recalls the Vietnamese people’s resistance war against the US imperialism for national independence during the 1954 - 1975 period.
The exhibition also expresses gratitude to peace-loving people around the world who surpassed the geographical, linguistic, and religious distances to raise their voices against the American war in Vietnam.
The displayed photos, documents and artifacts which are divided into three main thematic areas which are “It is never late for peace”, “Hanoi – A City for Peace”; and “Vietnam – a destination for cooperation, friendship and peace”.

At the opening ceremony, many people donated photos, documents and artifacts to the Management Board of Hoa Lo Prison Relic Site for research and display.
The Management Board took the occasion to present gifts to victims of Agent Orange at the Vietnam Friendship Village in Hoai Duc District, Hanoi.
