Vietnam National Quality Awards and International Asia Pacific Quality Awards 2018 presented to winners (14:50 26/06/2019)
The event saw the attendance of members of Party Central Committee: Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam; Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh; Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong; Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung; among others.
Addressing the ceremony, Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam stressed that it is necessary to enhance competitiveness, improve productivity and especially quality as customers’ demands have become increasingly diverse and strict.
“Vietnam is an inseparable part of the world economy. Thus, Vietnamese products need to meet international criteria”, he underlined.
According to the Deputy PM, the winners of the Vietnam National Quality Awards met all seven international quality criteria that show the importance of innovation, creativity, culture and ethical standards in business.
The Government wished more domestic businesses to join movements to improve the productivity and quality, making significant contributions to the country’s development, he added.

Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung hands over the Vietnam National Quality Awards 2018 to outstanding businesses.
After 24 years of foundation and development, the Vietnam National Quality Awards have contributed to improving material and technical capacity of Vietnamese enterprises in the process of international and regional economic integration.
Regarding the outcomes of the Vietnam National Quality Awards during over 20 years, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung hoped that domestic businesses would improve their competitiveness.
Accordingly, in 2018, the Prime Minister decided to give the national quality gold awards to 22 businesses, and national quality awards to 53 others.
As a part of the GPEA system of the Asia Pacific Quality Organization, the Vietnam National Quality Awards aim to help businesses to increase Vietnamese-made products, commodities and services as well as improve their competiveness and international integration.
