At the forum, delegates shared research results and experiences during their participation in farming while working out concrete immediate and long-term measures in an effort to promote production and consumption of farm produce under the value chains as well as increase values of agricultural products, and develop trademarks for sustainable development.
According to Nguyen Xuan Dai, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, over the past years, Hanoi has paid special attention to developing consumption chains for safe farm produce in the city.
Accordingly, the department also issued two guiding documents on management and development of supply chains for clean and safe farm produce in the city.
So far, the city has maintained and developed 121 chains of production and consumption of safe agricultural, forestry and aquatic products.
Besides, many activities were held to promote the chains in the city, such as a conference on promotion and consumption of agricultural products of 21 provinces and cities which supply safe meat and vegetables to Hanoi, training courses, among others.
To strengthen connection in agricultural production and consumption, in the coming time, Hanoi will enhance the cooperation with other provinces and cities; improve the operational quality of agricultural cooperatives; and promote communication and dissemination of farm produce and food safety knowledge.
The city will also focus on developing the chains associated with building trademarks; and encouraging enterprises and households to invest in industrial and semi-industrial slaughter, ensure food safety and hygiene, and environmental protection.
