In attendance were Nguyen Quang Huy, Head of the Municipal Party Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs; Nguyen Doan Toan, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee; and heads of departments, sectors and agencies.
Giving a report at the conference, Vice Head of the Hanoi Party Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs Nguyen The Toan said that over the first quarter of 2019, the commission and agencies of internal affairs have served as advisory bodies in maintaining national security, especially during the second North Korea–United States Hanoi Summit.
The agencies have also made greater gains in combating crimes, ensuring military work, national defense and anti-corruption, among others.
Representatives of departments, sectors and districts had more discussion about the achievements to clarify shortcomings and weaknesses as well as exchanged their views to better implement the task of internal affairs and anti-corruption.
Making conclusion at the conference, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang praised the sector’s achievements.
However, she pointed out existing problems which need removing in the coming time.
Stressing six key tasks in the last nine months of the year, the Permanent Deputy Secretary requested all-level Party Committees and their heads to continue enhancing the task of internal affairs and the fight against corruption as an important and regular political mission.
Internal affairs agencies need to actively grasp the situation to promptly deal with burning issues in an effort to maintain political security, social order and security while carrying out programs and plans to ensure absolute safety for political and diplomatic events, economic, cultural and social activities in the city, she urged.
Permanent Deputy Secretary Ngo Thi Thanh Hang underlined the need to review and address existing complaints and denunciations in the spirit of Resolution 15 and Directive 15 of the Municipal Party Committee; increase the responsibility of heads of all-level Party Committees and authorities in resolving land-related complaints and denunciations; actively carry out missions and measures in flood prevention and control; enhance inspections of fire prevention in high risk areas, such as markets, apartment buildings and warehouses, among other.
At the conference, the Municipal Party Committee also disseminated Plan No. 127-KH/TU dated March 28, 2019 on realizing Directive No. 27-CT/TW dated January 10, 2019 of the Politburo on strengthening the Party’s leadership in protecting people denouncing corruption.
Permanent Deputy Secretary Ngo Thi Thanh Hang requested all-level Party Committees and their heads to take responsibility to implement the plan in localities and entities so as to create the unity among officials and Party members.
She also asked agencies, sectors to promptly give guidance on carrying out the plan.
The Party Board of the Hanoi People’s Committee will instruct functional agencies to elaborate regulations on protecting people denouncing corruption, she said.
