Hanoi promotes investment-tourism cooperation with Japan (19:16 31/03/2019)

The conference is an opportunity for Japanese enterprises to further understand the city’s preferential mechanisms and policies to attract more investment. 


Hanoi focuses on administrative reform and improvement of investment, business environment


At the conference, Japanese enterprises voiced their concern about some issues, such as preferential mechanisms for land lease to attract more investors in industrial parks, regulations on procedures for adjusting investment certificates, tax incentives for foreign firms in the field of waste treatment in Hanoi, and priority sectors to attract FDI
At the conference, representatives of Hanoi’s departments and sectors clarified concerned issues relating to preferential mechanisms for land lease to attract foreign investors. 
According to Vice Head of the Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zone Nguyen Duc Quang, so far the city has nine industrial parks operating under preferential policies of the Central level and the city. 
Meanwhile, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Nguyen Manh Quyen said that Hanoi calls on Japanese firms to invest in various fields including traffic, smart city, drainage infrastructure, food processing, garment, and footwear, among others. 
City continues calling on Japanese firms to strengthen investment and business cooperation
Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Doan Toan stressed that the city is striving to improve business and investment environment. 
Currently, Japan’s foreign direct investment (FDI) in the city accounts for 25.5% of its total FDI value, he said, and noting that Hanoi has focused on FDI attraction for its development, especially in the field of environment. 
According to the Vice Chairman, the capital city has coped with challenges of traffic infrastructure development.
Toan also stated that the capital city is committed to stepping up administrative reform with people and enterprises as its focus.
He wished Japanese firms to increase their investment in the fields which the city gives priority for development.
