The event was chaired by Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Head of the Steering Committee.
Nguyen Lan Huong, Head of the Municipal Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization, Chairwoman of the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee was also in attendance.
According to a report of the Municipal Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization, localities and units have strengthened the dissemination of guiding documents of the Central level and the city on the enforcement of grassroots democracy regulations associated with the emulation movements since the beginning of the year.
Moreover, local authorities have paid special attention to the disseminating of grassroots democracy regulations while strengthening the execution of democracy regulations in caring for policy beneficiaries on the occasion of traditional New Year festival as well as recruiting young people to join military service.
The city’s administrative agencies and public non-business units have also worked out plans and decisions on inspection teams to tighten discipline and administrative discipline associated with the year of improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the political system.
Making conclusion at the conference, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang stressed five key tasks of the Steering Committee in building and implementing democratic regulations, including strengthening the communication on enforcement of grassroots democracy regulations.
She underlined the need to enhance the leadership of all-level Party Committees in implementing regulations on democracy associated with political missions in localities.
Firstly, the Party Committees need to give guidance on organizing Fatherland Front Committees’ congresses at all levels; and strengthen the enforcement of grassroots democracy regulations in streamlining the apparatus as well as holding the entrance examination to recruit civil servants, she urged.
Permanent Deputy Secretary Hang noted that all-level Party Committees and authorities should focus on working out Directive 15 and Resolution 15 of the Municipal Party Committee; and promoting the role of the Fatherland Front and political – social organizations in calling for officials, youth union members to actively participate in social supervision and criticism.
She also requested the Commission for Mass Mobilization to review issues in the enforcement of grassroots democracy regulations in fields of land management, construction order, land clearance, new style rural area building, among others.
