Ha Noi wants to cooperate with Estonia in smart city building (07:00 06/03/2019)


HNP - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung hosted a reception for a delegation of Estonia led by Vice Foreign Minister Andres Rundu on March 4th.

At the reception, Estonian Vice Foreign Minister Andres Rundu said that Viet Nam is one of the fastest growing countries in Southeast Asia. Recently, the relationship between Viet Nam and Estonia has developed fruitfully.


He hoped that the bilateral cooperation will grow further in the coming time.


With its strength in fields of information technology, public transport and digitization, Estonia is ready to share experiences with Viet Nam and Ha Noi in building e-government, smart city, he said.


In reply, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said that Ha Noi took the lead in foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction in 2018. Its average growth in the last 8 years reached 7.85%.


In the city’s development strategy to 2020 and following periods, Ha Noi will focus on three breakthroughs, including: traffic infrastructure, high quality human resources and administrative reform, he added.


Chairman Chung said that Ha Noi wishes to enhance the cooperation with Estonian enterprises in infrastructure development, smart city building.
