Giving a report at the meeting, Director of the Department of Investment and Planning Nguyen Manh Quyen said that in February, the city drastically implemented major economic balances. Total budget revenue in the first two months reached over VND 44.6 billion, equal to 18.7% of the estimate, up 26.7% year on year. Local budget expenditure was estimated at over VND 7.7 billion, accounting for 7.7% of the estimate.
Export turnover in the first two months of the year fetched US 2.24 billion, up 21.3%, meanwhile, import turnover was about US$ 5.07 billion, up 8.6%. Capital mobilized from credit organization was estimated at over VND 3.1 trillion, up 1.5% compared to the end of 2018; total loans reached nearly VND 1,900 trillion, up 1.5% compared to the end of 2018; consumer price index rose by 0.89% compared to the previous month and 3.91% compared to the same period due to people’s high demands during Lunar New Year festival; industrial production index decreased by 23.6% compared to the previous month but increased by 9% compared to the same period.
Total revenue from retail sales and services was estimated over VND 223 trillion in February, down 6.9% month on month, and up 8.5% year on year.
In the first two months of the year, total tourism revenue was estimated at VND 17.3 trillion, up 31.7%. Furthermore, FDI attraction maintained remarkable growth. Particularly, total registered capital fetched US$ 4.01 billion, 36.3 times higher than the same period; domestic investment reached VND 7.64 trillion. A total of 3,240 businesses were established with the registered capital of VND 26.5 trillion.
Besides, over the past two months, the city has made greater gains in urban technical facilities, power and water supply, drainage and wastewater treatment, environmental sanitation, tree planting and street lighting, etc.
Notably, on the occasion of Lunar New Year, Ha Noi presented 1,371, 200 gifts to policy beneficiaries with the total cost of over VND 541 billion.
The city also paid special attention to organizing a wide range of cultural activities to celebrate the 89th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam as well as Lunar New Year festival 2019.
Over the past two months, national defense has been consolidated; political security - social order and safety has been maintained.
