Giving a report at the meeting, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Nguyen Manh Quyen said that in November 2018, the Municipal People’s Committee comprehensively implemented socio-economic missions to fulfill and exceed the set targets, including: making the 2019 socio-economic development plan and budget estimate; preparing contents for the working program of the Municipal Party Committee and the end-year session of the Municipal People’s Council; urging budget revenue and expenditure; controlling the market and ensuring goods supply to serve Lunar New Year Festival; maintaining urban infrastructure, etc.
The city has enhanced measures to ensure political security, social order and safety. In November, budget revenue was estimated at VND 208.9 trillion, accounting for 87.7% of the estimate, posting a year-on-year increase of 12.8%; local budget expenditure was estimated at VND 58.93 trillion, accounting for 61.8% of the estimate.
Total investment for social development is expected to reach VND 340.8 trillion, up 10.6%; Consumer Price Index (CPI) reduced by 0.26% over the previous month, posting a year-on-year surge of 4.17%; Export turnover was estimated at US$ 1.28 billion, representing a month-on-month increase of 4.4% and a year-on-year surge of 28.5%. In the first 11 months of the year, export turnover reached US$ 12,853 million, posting a year-on-year of 20.9%.
In November alone, Ha Noi welcomes 2.31 million tourists, posting a year-on-year surge of 10.3%, including 659.7 thousand foreign arrivals, up 12.5% over the same period last year. In the first 11 months, the total number of visitors to Ha Noi reached 24.04 million, up 9.7% over the same period last year, including 5.47 million international tourists, up 17.7% against the corresponding period last year. Total revenue from tourism sector was estimated to reach VND 70.7 trillion, posting a year-on-year increase of 12.3%.
Besides, Ha Noi has made greater gains in agricultural production, socio-cultural development. Particularly, the city has strengthened the application of information technology in agencies; operated one-stop-shop software throughout the city; provided online public services at level 3, 4; promoted the implementation of the two codes of conduct in working places and public areas, etc.
At the meeting, the Municipal People’s Committee listened to a report on briefing the implementation of missions assigned by of the Government, the Municipal Party Committee, the People’s Council and the People’s Committee in November and December 2018.
