So far, all suburban districts and Ha Dong District, Son Tay Town have proactively reviewed and made plans on vocational training for rural laborers in 2018. Particularly, by the end of September, localities coordinated with 32 vocational training establishments to open courses for rural laborers.
After all, a total of 393 vocational training classes for 13,643 rural workers were organized, accounting for 56.85% of the set plan. Accordingly, the agricultural occupation attracted 8,956 participants, accounting for 67.65%; meanwhile, 4,697 people took part in non-agricultural occupation training courses, accounting for 32.35%.
It is expected that suburban districts will continue organizing vocational training courses for 8,640 rural laborers in the last three months of the year, increasing the number of trained workers to 22,283, accounting for 92.85% of the plan.
A part from gained achievements, the task of vocational training for rural laborers has had many difficulties and obstacles.
At the conference, the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs asked suburban districts, towns to boost stronger ties with enterprises in job creation as well as mobilizing businesses’ assistance so as to improve the quality of vocational training while reviewing and choosing occupations suitable for learners.
Making conclusion at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy noted that sectors, localities should positively coordinate with enterprises to enhance vocational training task.
He emphasized the need of career guidance and counseling for students so as to help them select suitable vocations.
Especially, the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs needs to tighten the cooperation with departments, sectors, units and localities to add number of occupations; shorten the time of training agricultural occupation; and research vocational training models more effectively, the Vice Chairman noted.
Vice Chairman Ngo Van Quy also asked suburban districts to enhance inspection to ensure the quality of vocational training for rural laborers.
