Ha Noi, Australia strengthen cooperation in planning, education and training (19:06 30/09/2018)


HNP - In the framework of the working visit to Australia from September 24th to 26th, a delegation of Ha Noi led by Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Deputy Head of the National Assembly (NA) deputy delegation of Ha Noi and Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council, visited Sydney – the capital of the New South Wales (NSW) and Canberra – the capital of Australia.

Exchanging experience and vision in planning
 
The delegation had a working session with the Department of Planning and Environment of New South Wales on September 24th. The delegation made a survey and learned more experiences of promoting the values of historical, cultural relic sites in combination with tourism promotion, planning of museums, parks and public transport system in Sydney. 
 
The delegation has a working with Chief Planner Gary White.
 
At the working session, Chief Planner Gary White exchanged and introduced experiences on strategic visions in planning Sydney and the state of New South Wales with a focus on caring for major contents to make planning criteria, such as population scale, population aging, transport, housing for low-income workers, regional planning to ensure the harmony among sustainable development, living environment, culture and public transport mean system, etc. 
 
On behalf of the delegation, Chairwoman of the Ha Noi People’s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc expressed her thanks for warm welcome and experiences in planning. 
 
She hoped that the two cities will have more exchanges in the coming time. 
 
Enhancing the cooperation in education
 
On the same day, the delegation worked with the NSW Department of Education. The two sides exchanged education issues of the two countries and hoped to boost the cooperation in education and training, especially vocational consultancy and training for students after graduating from high school.

Focusing on entrepreneurs 
 
The delegation also paid a visit to the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Sydney and the Embassy of Viet Nam in Australia on September 25th. At the session, Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc gave information of the Capital’s socio-economic development and results of the visit as well as the cooperation. 
 
She recommended the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Sydney and the Embassy of Viet Nam in Australia to act as a bridge to promote the cooperation between Ha Noi and Australia’s localities in fields of urban planning, urban transport, education and training, clean water, smart city building, preservation of the values of historical, cultural relic sites, tourism development.
 
In the framework of the visit, the delegation had a working session with the Vietnamese Business Association in Sydney. 
 
Enterprises expected to try their best to build the capital and the country more prosperous and pledged to serve as a bridge to call for Australian businesses to increase their investments in the fields which Viet Nam has strengths.
 
Head of the delegation Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc highly appreciated the role of the Vietnamese Business Association in Sydney. 
 
She believed that the Association will continue giving assistance to its members in developing their businesses, having great contributions to the development of the Vietnamese community in Sydney, Australia as well as the homeland.
