The event saw the participation of David Wong, President the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO), leaders of the Da Nang City People’s Committee and representatives of domestic and foreign IT organizations, associations, and businesses.
Notably, in attendance were Ambassadors of Russia, the Kingdom of Sweden, Finland, Laos and representatives of some embassies in Viet Nam.
At the reception, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy said that this is a large scale international conference, drawing the participation of more than 10 nations and provinces, cites of Viet Nam, Vietnamese and international leading experts in smart city, managers and policy makers.
“With the aim of smart city on basis of the application of key technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Ha Noi wishes experts to share their visions, strategies and experiences to develop Ha Noi and other provinces, cities into smarter and securer cities”, Vice Chairman Quy stressed.

David Wong, President the ASOCIO expressed his sincere thanks for the city administration’s support for the event and affirming that the ASOCIO pledges to continue supporting Ha Noi through many cooperative activities for the development.
According to Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Viet Nam Software and IT Services (VINASA), the summit is a chance to share and learn more each other’s experiences in building smart city. Via the summit, authorities, enterprises and people will find a common voice in smart city.
The ASOCIO Smart City Summit 2018 is organized by the Ha Noi People’s Committee, the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry organization (ASOCIO) and the Vietnam Software and IT Services (VINASA).
Under the theme “Creating Smarter and Securer Cities by Digital Solutions”, the event will officially open on September 18th.
The summit will feature seminars on digital government and strategies to build smart cities, and smarter cities with less cash transactions; along with sections on infrastructure, platform - principles for smart city, data driven city - data analysis & urban planning and smart industries.
