Chairman of Hanoi People’s Council visits people with outstanding contribution in Ba Vi District (20:52 20/07/2022)
Tuan and the delegation visited, comforted and presented gifts to officials and victims of Agent Orange infection at the Center for Care, Nurturing and Treatment of victims of Agent Orange in the city (Yen Bai commune, Ba Vi district).
At the visit, Director of the Center for Care, Nurturing and Treating Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Hanoi Tran Dang Khoa said that the Center was formerly the Center for Labor and Social Education No.8 with the task of rehabilitating drug addicts. Under the Decision 6883/QD-UBND dated December 14, 2015 of the Hanoi People's Committee, the Center was renamed, redefining its functions, tasks and consolidating the organizational structure into the Center for Care, Nurturing and Treatment of victims with Agent Orange.
The center has the function of caring, nurturing, treating, rehabilitating and detoxifying war veterans infected with Agent Orange/Dioxin during the war and their children. Many of them are facing difficulties in life.
Currently, the Center is providing foster care, treatment and rehabilitation for 113 victims. “The birth of the Center affirms the correct and timely policy of Hanoi in taking care of people with meritorious services to the revolution and their relatives, creating consensus for the social community,” said Khoa.
Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan emphasized that during the visit, the delegation felt that the efforts of the staff at the Center have been true to the principle of "Drink water, remember the source", in difficult conditions.
In the coming time, Tuan asked that the Center's officials and staff continue to pay attention to creating the best conditions for policy beneficiaries.
Tuan assigned the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to propose more solutions to upgrade the amenities at the Center for greater and effective in operation.
On this occasion, on behalf of the City's leaders, Tuan presented gifts to the staff and policy beneficiaries who are being cared for at the Center.
On the same day, Tuan and the city's delegation visited and presented gifts to the family of 3/4 class war invalids Do Quoc Binh in Ba Dinh district.
On behalf of the city's leaders, Tuan stressed that over the years, Hanoi has paid great attention and devoted a lot of resources to take care of families on welfare. Tuan expected that, in the coming time, Binh and his family will continue to promote the good traditions the people’s army, while active participating in local movements, abiding by policies and regulations of Hanoi.
